Constitution and Bylaws
The club shall be known as
the Thai Ridgeback Club of Canada (TRCC) and the area of
operation shall be within the boundary of Canada.
The aim of the TRCC is to foster
an increased appreciation for the Thai Ridgeback Dog (TRD) in Canada.
The club advocates responsible and ethical ownership of all purebred dogs and
the breeding of same using accepted ethical breeding practices. The club acts
as a resource sharing mechanism to ensure that the TRD remains an asset to
the canine community at large.
The TRCC encourages all
TRD owners to actively participate in events including Lure coursing,
Obedience, Rally-O, and other working events. The TRCC advocates the active socialization of all canines.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors shall be members in good standing of
the TRCC and consist of, at minimum, the following positions.- President-duties include
presiding over all meetings that he/she is present, as well as other duties as deemed required by the BOD.
- Vice President-duties include presiding over all meetings in the temporary or permanent
absence of the President, as well as other duties as deemed required by the BOD.
In the case of a permanent absence of the President then the Vice President shall assume the co-signing authority of the absent
President.
- Secretary-duties include the recording of minutes of all meetings, as well as other duties as deemed required
by the BOD.
- Treasurer-duties are to oversee any
finances of the TRCC,
- Events- duties include
organizing of TRCC events and signing authority for titles
Vacancies occurring on the BOD shall
be filled by appointment by the remaining members of the BOD using a
simple majority vote during any meeting of the club.
CODE
OF ETHICS1. All
TRD will be treated with kindness and respect.Only positive training methods will be used.
2. All dogs will be kept under safe and
sanitary conditions and be given the appropriate health care and protection.
3. All advertising will be done in
a professional manner. All advertisements shall be factual, concise and non-embellished.
4. Puppies or dog shall not be sold to
wholesalers, pet shops or animal dealers of any kind.
Responsibility of Breeders1. Breeders will strive to conform to the FCI Thai Ridgeback standard to improve progeny.
2. Breeders are responsible for all dogs they produce. Breeders
must make every effort to take back or rehome any dog they have placed that is in need.
3. A dog/bitch unsuitable for breeding must
be sold with a non-breeding agreement or shall be altered before being sent to a new home.
Responsibility of Exhibitors1. Dogs are to be shown shall be presented
clean and properly groomed.
2.
Exhibitors realize that they represent the dog fancy in general. More specifically, they represent
the Thai Ridgeback breed to the general public. As such, exhibitors will act in a professional manner and exhibit good
sportsmanship to others at all times. In addition, exhibitors will respect the rules of the local community including
hotels/motels, show event sites and/or sponsors.
